An Eighth Birthday Gaming Party

The second of our three April birthdays saw my gorgeous middle child turn eight...

Hamish chose a Gaming theme and decided he wanted both the invitation and the cake to have an X-Box on them. As it's hard to share one gaming console with a big group of kids - and our backyard was still a mess - we decided to have the party at Kingpin.
Hamish and his friends got to play a game of laser tag...

The big brothers had fun too. Love these evil, plotting faces...
And Rohan was SO excited to get to play with the big boys...

After laser tag we got some time on the arcade games...

Then the kids got to choose between Hot Dogs or Chicken Nuggets with Curly Fries...
Sister likes herself some curly fries too...
Then we got to wish this sweet-hearted boy a very Happy Birthday...
The X-Box cake wasn't as stressful to make as I thought it was going to be...
...and the birthday boy just loved it!
While we could have had Kingpin supply some lolly bags, we wanted to make our own. We iced some biscuits to look like X-box buttons and made matching Thank you tags...
Though, I'm pretty sure I could get used to these parties where someone else does the cooking and cleaning up!
